The International Coach Federation defines coaching as follows:
Coaching is an ongoing relationship between the professional coach and the client, which focuses on the client taking action toward the realization of their vision, goals, or desires. Coaching uses a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build the client’s awareness and responsibility and provides the client with structure, support and feedback.

Whatever your age, your upbringing, or your education, what you are made of is mostly unused potential.
- George Leonard

Executive Excellence

Senior managers are unique because of the role they have. They’ve worked hard to get where they are. A common problem they experience is not getting feedback and many feel they can’t share their issues internally. Our coaching helps executives explore goals, beliefs, life choices, attitudes, opportunities and challenges. They will gain awareness about their abilities, unique talents, sense of purpose and vision . We coach the “whole” person. Simply put, that means we don’t compartmentalize.

We recognize that we are all influenced by many factors. Factors like interpersonal relationships, balance between work and life, health and spirituality. What is going on in one part of life can significantly impact other areas, including work. Our work with executives helps to align their behaviors in all aspects of life to their purpose and vision. The result is higher levels of satisfaction that transfer to higher ratings on leadership effectiveness.

No two people are alike. Our job as coach is to provide a customized approach with measurable results and behavior change. Some of the common business issues we coach senior executives include how to:

  • Improve leadership effectiveness
  • Increase visibility, exposure and add value
  • Balance work - life
  • Stay focused and sharp in challenging times
  • Prepare for transitions (promotions, new roles, retirement)
  • Enhance communication with boss, team, peers, clients and customers
  • Work more effectively with people from other cultures and diverse backgrounds
  • Prevent personal stress, burnout and recovery

Middle Matters Coaching

More companies are offering coaching and mentoring to middle managers and employees with high potential for leadership roles. They realize the important role these individuals have in translating company objectives and strategies to employees performing the work. Today’s managers need new skills to manage a changing workplace. Traditional management approaches no longer work.

There are generational differences that impact management style. Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y each want and need something a little different. There are more telecommuters, fewer people to get the job done and more pressure to perform. New attitudes about work require new ways of managing. Often there are blind spots that impact effectiveness. Let our coaching process help remove the blinders and develop your management talent. To further middle mangers skills and prepare high potentials for leadership, combine coaching with our L.E.A.D. program.

Generational Coaching

Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X and Y are four generations trying to work together. Conflict between these groups is costly and impacts morale. Generational conflicts happen when people make assumptions instead of learning about each other. We believe there are more differences within each generation than there are between generations. What often appears to be a conflict based on generational differences is sometimes more about the behavior and less about differences in values. Different generations may value the same things but may need different approaches to the same problems.

We believe that in order to understand others, we must first understand ourselves. Our approach is to help increase self-awareness, gain knowledge and skills and learn how to demonstrate respect for diverse attitudes and expectations. We focus on helping others learn how to have a real conversation, how to discuss differences, explain approaches, understand the other’s perspectives and deliver the right message.
